a cheeky quixpin mix!
i thought i would share my first quixpin mix with you.
i used the following components in my setup;
Stereo to mono splitters from maplin (4 quid) so i can monitor my tracks with headphones.white is headphones (left channel) and red is mix output (right channel)
(non - essential) remote volume control unit so i can quickly change the output volume of my headphones.
This is not essential as you can set the cue volume in quixpin. i just find this way easier and faster.
a 3.5mm stereo to stereo cable to connect the output mix to the line in on my sound card.
its important to use the line in on the soundcard as you can hear the mix as its recording.
I can then record my mix using the audacity software (freeware).
And finally a canon powershot a590 on a tripod. This camera is great as it takes macro video which enable a
good close up on the iphone.
I will be looking to add a mono to stereo plug (again maplin £1.79) in the near future so that the audio going into the line in is in stereo.
This will eliminate the need for me to edit my mix in audacity to make it stereo.
Hi spanielgita,
Thanks for posting up your mix! You've got some awesome tunes there. Do you mind posting what your playlist is? Also, Vimeo is a good site to host longer videos. You've given us a good number of ideas for additions to our site with your post. It's folks like you who really bring apps and communities to new levels. So, thanks again!

I'm glad to have helped you guys out. I think its so great that you have enabled me to mix anywhere and anytime! Cant think of a better way to spend £1.19!
I also love the fact that the software is true to Dj'in, no "auto sync" - just pure skills!
I did try to upload pictures of all the gear i was describing but it doesnt seem to have worked.
Thanks for the heads up on vimeo, i am uploading the video to it just now.
Will amend the link on my first post when its done.
p.s really looking forward to the next release.
Dan
Hey Dan,
Thanks for posting up your video! It looks great and those are some great tunes that you've got. We'll soon have a "User Showcase" on the site that will allow you to post your URL to your mix videos so others can see.
